The first bottle of Hotham’s gin was sold over the weekend at an artisan and food market in Cottingham.
After recently announcing their plans to open a Gin School here in Hull, Hotham’s Ltd launched not one, but two gins today - Hotham’s Handcrafted Gin and Hotham’s Cardamom Gin.
Hotham’s were thrilled to be offered a stall at Dazzling Events’ Artisan and Food Market, held at The Lawns in Cottingham on Sunday morning. After reading about Hull’s first gin in modern times, on their social media pages, Adam headed down to the market, and was the first to buy a bottle of the first ever batch offered for sale of Hotham’s Handcrafted Gin.
Founders Emma and Simon said, “We’re so excited to finally be getting our gin out to people, and the support we’ve had, both at the Market and on social media, has been amazing. We’re really keen to be involved in local community events like this, working amongst other artisan producers, and talking to our customers and finding out what they like. We’d like to thank Adam, our first customer, and everybody else who came to support us today.
“When we started out, we had no idea that we would be the first to distil gin in Hull this millenium.
We are proud to be part of Hull’s heritage. Our recipes were invented and developed here, our gin is distilled and bottled here, and we’re sure the people of Hull will love them as much as we do.”
